Florreich-Duke Family

This is the Florreich-Duke family. I had such a blast photographing them. The girls are beautiful and have such fun and unique personalities. They were down for all of my ideas and even had a few of their own!

Cute Kids!

In November a friend of mine asked me to take some photos of her children, so of course I jumped at the chance! Her kids are adorable - especially the twin boys with their big brown eyes and long eyelashes. Easily the most well-mannered kids I've ever photographed!

Winter Wonderland

It's been a while since I posted anything and after contemplating why, I realized it's because winter is a hard season for me when it comes to photography. I prefer to snuggle up on the couch with a blanket and a good book rather than explore the outdoors for the perfect winter shot. I have, however, taken up snowboarding again and this has given me the an excuse to drag a camera along to catch some great snow photos. Perhaps not the best ones (I'm not about to drag along my SLR in my coat!), but pictures nonetheless.

Random Red Butte Shots

Here are a couple of my favorite pictures from a recent outing to Red Butte Gardens in Salt Lake City. This is definitely one of my favorite places to go and photograph random things. As seen below, you never know what you'll see...

Fall is in full swing!

Here are some shots from Millcreek Canyon earlier this week before the cold hit like a ton of bricks. This is one of my favorite times of the year!

This is a shot of some smoke coming across the road. I liked how it looked with the way the sun was hitting it.

A Bad Experience Made Good

Although I prefer to take scenic photos, I have been known to take portraits on occasion. I don't know if I could ever do it as my full time job, however. I spent a very long 4 months working at JC Penney's portrait studio where I learned a lot about taking portraits. It can be very difficult to get the perfect shot and kids can be especially hard to work with.

When I found out my friend Kelly had had a less-than-satisfactory experience with a "photographer" recently and saw the photos as evidence, I insisted she let me attempt to do better. It couldn't be hard - the photographs she received were terrible. Here are a few of the 300 some-odd shots I got of their cute little family. I must say that out of the three of them, Christian (the little boy) did the best! He was the perfect little model. I'd gladly take his picture any day!
I love the look Kelly is giving Brendan in this one.
